Description
A photograph taken by Luther Howe Shattuck, a Boston-based commercial photographer who visited the Tamworth area in the early 1900s. His grandson, Stephen Jeffery of Barrington, NH donated the photographs to the Cook Memorial Library. Stephen has a collection of his grandfather’s glass negatives. He developed the photos himself and then looked online at church steeple images to figure out that the photographs were taken in Tamworth. He brought a collection of photographs to the library and asked for help identifying other images taken in Tamworth.
This print and others made by Stephen Jeffery from Luther Howe Shattuck glass plate negatives are in the Cook Memorial Library’s archive.
