Cover: Marbled paper outside cover, some faded writing on front cover, "Lib"
Binding: At some point, spine was reinforced with heavy black woven tape

Constitution (7 pages)
Lists of Members and their circulation history, includes records of fines levied
Records of purchases of books
Record of the 1809 annual meeting of the Society (adjourned because of a lack of quorum)
Inside front and back covers contain signature and doodles by Rev. Samuel Hidden and Joseph Gilman, both served as Librarian within the time period of this record book.
The first interior page has two notes added ca. 1950: An index card with the words:
Parson Hidden's own handwriting
Laws of Social Library
Do not handle
A handwritten note taped with cellophane tape to the first page has the following note showing this record book had been in private hands for a while:

Dear Mrs Harkness,
I have found the Hidden book about the founding of the Tamworth library.
I am afraid to trust it to the mail.
